The Gestational Diabetes Class is a series of 2 free classes. At the first class, there will be a Certified Diabetes Nurse Educator and a Dietitian. The second class is a follow-up with the Certified Diabetes Nurse Educator only.
Expectant mothers will receive a meal plan and nutrition education. They will also learn how and when to test their blood glucose, and how to reduce complication risks for mother and baby. How to prevent a future diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes will also be discussed.
