Holiday Guide: Merry Music for the Holidays

Several local schools and organizations will host holiday and winter concerts over the next few months.

Enjoy the sounds of the season this holiday with one of these local concerts.

The Libertyville High School will host the High School and Jr. High Orchestra Festival on Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m.; the Holiday Choral Fest Dec. 11 at 5 p.m.  and Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m. The Holiday Band Concert is scheduled for Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m. All concerts will be in the school's auditorium, 708 W. Park Ave.

The Red Rose Children's Choir of Lake County will perform a holiday concert Winds of Peace on Dec. 1 at the First Presbyterian Church, 219 W. Maple Ave. All four choirs will perform at 2 p.m and the Master Singers and Bella Rosa at 4:30 p.m.

The show is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted.

The Red Rose Children's Choir is a nonprofit organization serving families in Lake County and northern Cook County. The auditioned, tuition based choir serves students with differing religious, racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds.

The Adler Center for Performing Arts will host a holiday concert. Details have yet to be released.

The Libertyville Elementary District 70 schools host winter concerts after the new year.

The Elementary Band Concert for fourth and fifth grade band students is scheduled for Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. at Butterfield School, 1441 W. Lake St. The Elementary Orchestra Concert is Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. at Butterfield. The Highland Middle School Symphonic Band Concert will be Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. at Highland Middle School, 310 W. Rockland Rd.
