'Lace Up 4 Learning' to be Held May 28

The event will serve as a fundraiser for the District 128 Foundation for Learning.

The District 128 Foundation for Learning will host its 2nd Annual Lace Up 4 Learning 5K Run/Walk on Monday, May 28 at 8 a.m. at Old School Forest Preserve in Libertyville.

Register online at: www.signmeup.com/D128laceupforlearning<http://www.signmeup.com/D128laceupforlearning>. The registration fee is $30 prior to race day, and $35 on the day of the race. Registration is free for all current and Vernon Hills High School students. All proceeds benefit technology needs at LHS and VHHS.

More than 300 runners, walkers and volunteers participated in last year’s race, and the Foundation hopes to increase that number this year. The event will include refreshments provided by local businesses, prizes, and a traveling trophy for the D128 high school with the largest percentage of student participants. Vernon Hills High School captured the 2011 trophy. Be a part of this exciting annual event and see which school will have the honor of taking home the traveling trophy this year.
