Libertyville Elementary District 70 Honors 47 Teachers

This year marks the largest group of teachers receiving the leadership awards.

Teachers were at the center of meeting Monday, as new, tenured, and remarkable teachers were honored and recognized.

“This is truly our favorite meeting of the entire year,” Superintendant Guy Schumacher said. “It’s a day of recognizing our new staff and welcoming them to our district. It’s a night of recognizing those who have achieved tenure, which we know that we look for the best and we seek the best. To achieve tenure is truly an honor.”

The board also acknowledged 47 teachers with leadership awards for their work in summer school programs, the standards assessment committee, character counts program, and strategic planning. This year marks the largest group of teachers awarded this honor.
