Libertyville High School Boys Swim Team Wins Fourth Place at State

The state finals were held Feb. 23 at New Trier High School.

The Libertyville High School swim team capped off its winning season by taking fourth place overall at the state finals Saturday.

It was "the highest finish in school history," according to the Community High School District 128 Facebook page. The state finals were held at New Trier High School.

Here's a look at how individual team members performed, according to results on the Illinois High School Association webstie:

  • Sophomore Matt Harrington took third place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.07. He also took fifth place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.05.
  • Junior Alex Snarski took second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 49.98. He also took sixth place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 50.21.

Libertyville won fifth place in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:34.71. Members of the team included Harrington, Snarski, and sophomores Atticus Rush and Justin Fu. The group also took seventh in the 400-yard freestyle relay with 3:07.87.
