Libertyville High School to Hold Red Ribbon 5K

The Run/Walk event will be held Sept. 30.

Register today for the 20th annual Red Ribbon 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 9 a.m. at Libertyville High School, 708 W. Park Ave.

The race is sponsored by the “Athletes Committed to Excellence (ACE) and of Libertyville.  Each year, ACE sponsors the run and uses all proceeds to assist with drug and alcohol prevention programs and various service projects within Libertyville High School and surrounding communities.

In addition, we will continue our annual contribution to the American Cancer Society in honor of Randy Kuceyeski, former LHS varsity football coach, physical education teacher, and cancer survivor.  Coach Kuz founded ACE in 1988 to offer drug and alcohol free fellowship, safe social activities for kids at LHS, and opportunities for our athletes to serve as healthy role models to others.  Coach Kuz himself has been a long time role model and mentor to the LHS students, athletes, and community.

To register, go the Libertyville High School web page, www.lhswildcats.org<http://www.lhswildcats.org>, and click on the Red Ribbon Race. For more information, contact Nancy Stetter at 847-327-7035.
