Libertyville Preschool Offers New Classes

is offering new enrichment classes for toddlers this fall.

Instead of a typical preschool class, more nature and science are incorporated into the Amazing Adventures Enrichment classes. The school tried a pilot class last semester and made cooking a big part of the class.

“We made red eyed tree frogs out of Oreos, pretzels, and blue jello arctic ocean with cool whip ice bergs,” said Sarah McAuliffe, director of Growing with Grace Preschool. “Each week the students made a page for their Animal Adventures book to take home at end of the session.”

The school is also trying a new Author Adventures class where a story is the theme for the week and art, music, drama, dance, science, cooking and games are used to make the story come alive.

“It’s a great way to improve literacy, pre-reading skills,” McAuliffe said.
