Libertyville Residents Recognized for Accomplishments

Congrats, Brett Coburn, Erin Taylor and Stephen Lehocky!

Brett Coburn of Libertyville, a student in the Creighton University College of Business, was inducted into the student chapter of the Jesuit Honor Society Alpha Sigma Nu, at its annual ceremony Feb. 3, in the Harper Center Hixson-Lied Auditorium. Membership in Alpha Sigma Nu is the highest honor bestowed on an individual from a Jesuit University based on criteria of service, loyalty and scholarship. Inductees are nominated by faculty, staff, administrators and Alpha Sigma Nu members who feel individuals are deserving of such an honor.

Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, IN, named Erin Taylor to the Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester. Erin is the daughter of Karl and Margaret Taylor of Libertyville. To earn academic honors at Saint Mary's, a student must achieve a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale, have at least 12 graded credit hours, no incompletes, and no grades lower than a C.

Stephen Lehocky, a member of Marquette University's male a cappella group The Naturals participated in the 2013 A Cappella Invitational at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Lehocky is a native of Libertyville and is majoring in psychology. At the annual Invitational, The Naturals performed three songs: "Free Fallin'," "Make a Man Out of You" and their TV Medley. The Naturals were discovered on YouTube by a Miami University a cappella group and were invited to the prestigious invitational.
