Wildcats Perform 'Once on This Island' Nov. 3-5

Libertyville High School opens its 2011-2012 theatre season with a musical set in Haiti.

The story of star-crossed lovers is a classic one, from Romeo and Juliet, to The Little Mermaid. 's production of Once on This Island takes that tale and sets it on the island of Haiti. 

Director Tim Frawley, and choreagrapher Eryn Brown have not only brought a ray of sunshine to the stage, but Brown has also been able to teach the students the importance of dance in other cultures.

Drawing inspiration from African tribal dances, Brown enlisted the help of an African dance troupe to help the cast and crew learn more about the culture.

Once on This Island will be presented Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3 – 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the .
