Schools Closed Monday Due to Weather
At least one local business will also be closed due to the extreme cold.
Schools throughout Libertyville, from preschools to Libertyville High School, are slated to be closed Monday, Jan. 27, due to the extreme cold.
According to the Emergency Closing Center website, the following schools will be closed: Libertyville District 70; Libertyville and Vernon Hills High Schools; St. Joseph School; Alta Vista Montessori; and Connections Day School. All College of Lake County campuses and the Lake County High Schools Technology Campus will also be closed.
Savory Spice Shop advised its customers on Facebook that the store will be closed Monday: "Stay home if you can. Stay safe."
Monday's forecast high temperature is just minus 6, with wind chill values as low as minus 33. The wind chill values could reach as low as 41 degrees below zero Monday night and Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
