Congratulations, Justin Buehler, Shelby Burton, Alan Esser, Theresa Gasick, Amy LeJeune, Danya Sundh, and Abby Vaughan!

Libertyville Elementary District 70 honored seven teachers at a recent board of education meeting for reaching tenure status.

Teachers honored included: Justin Buehler, Shelby Burton, Alan Esser, Theresa Gasick, Amy LeJeune, Danya Sundh, and Abby Vaughan.

“We are so proud of all that you do,” Superintendent Dr. Guy Schumacher said when awarding the teachers tenure at the Aug. 26 school board meeting.

“Your collective achievements are considerable and your value to the district is appreciated,” he said. “We honor you now for your dedication to District 70 and your commitment to the field of education.”

The certificates were handed out to the teachers by Board of Education President Maryann Ovassapian and Dr. Schumacher.

In the state of Illinois, a teacher becomes tenured after four successful years of satisfactory evaluation/review by the school principal or district administration. This includes a series of required classroom observations, the monitoring of lesson plans as well as goal appraisal, and the overall fulfillment of requirements listed in the District 70 teacher evaluation system.
