Orinoco Fitness Celebrates One-Year Anniversary with Customer Appreciation Week

Special promotions will be offered Dec. 2-8.

It has been nearly a year since Ana Santos Gitzinger opened the doors at Orinoco Fitness, welcoming customers into a tropical oasis where they can enjoy workouts like Pilates, yoga and Zumba.

"The community has been great," said Gitzinger. A key to her company's success, she said, has been keeping her customers happy. "I work with them and their schedules. Creating relationships—that's what I'm spending my time on. It's rewarding."

She will show her gratitude for those customers during Customer Appreciation Week, which will be held Dec. 2-7. During that entire week, customers will get three free classes when they bring a friend who hasn't yet been to Orinoco Fitness. There will also be a Zumba party on Dec. 6.

Gitzinger has tried to incorporate many new programs over the past year at Orinoco. This summer, she offered the Bold and Beautiful Summer Challenge to keep people active during the summer. Orinoco is in the midst of a six-week fall Pilates challenge now. Gitzinger said customers sign a commitment form and set fitness goals.

"We make you choose the classes you will do each week," said Gitzinger. "You're pledging to be here and do the work."

Customers who complete their six-week challenge will earn a free class. People can definitely see a difference over the six-week period, Gitzinger said. Pilates, for example, is great for posture, core strength and flexibility.

"You can see your core getting stronger," said Gitzinger.

Orinoco will offer an eight-week Zumba challenge starting in January, followed by another Pilates challenge in February.

These challenges, Gitzinger said, are all about "consistency, commitment and sticking to the plan."

Orinoco also offers a couple of new classes, including Piloxing, which is a blend of Pilates and kickboxing, along with Teen Yoga and Family Yoga. The latter class is offered once a month.

"We're the only studio with this class where parents and kids do the class together," said Gitzinger.
