Editor's note: In honor of the start of the Libertyville High School football season, I stopped by the varsity football practice on Tuesday to interview some players who volunteered. Name: Bryan Scanlon
Position: Wide receiver and safety
1. What's great about the team this year? We've got a great coaching staff and great kids, and we work hard and struggle together.
2. Who will be your toughest opponent this year? Stevenson High School. It's our biggest rivalry. They're always great games.
3. What do you love about playing football? I love being able to play for the community and show off our talents on Friday nights. Everyone supports us. The whole feeling is very special
4. Who is your favorite player in the NFL? Matt Blanchard, the backup quarterback for the Bears. He played at University of Wisconsin—Whitewater, and my brother goes there.
5. What do you do when you're not playing football? I play basketball for LHS and work out.
