LHS Runners Headed to State

Check out the results of the Palatine High School Sectional!

Three Libertyville High School runners qualified for the state track meet following the Palatine High School Sectional, held May 10. 

LHS senior Haley Becker took first place in the high jump, and senior Carly Stewart won first in the 800-meter run, according to the IHSA website. Stewart was named "LHS Athlete of the Week" on the district's Facebook page, which noted that "in the past two weeks, (Stewart) has improved her own school record in the 800-meter run. Last week at the NSC Conference track meet, she rant a time of 2:17.78 and was the conference champion for the 800-meter race for the second consecutive year. This past Friday at the IHSA Sectionals at Palatine, Carly ran a time of 2:17.62 and won the 800-meter run."

Senior Nicole Jafke took second place in the pole vault.

The state final meet will be held May 16-18.
