Libertyville Golf Course Hosts Grand Opening Saturday

Bring the family out to the Libertyville Golf Course's grand opening Saturday.

The Libertyville Golf Course will hold its grand opening from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 18 featuring a $1 million hole-in-one contest, activities for kids and free pizza and soda.

Under a 10-year lease agreement with the Village of Libertyville, the golf course is managed and operated by the BCS Golf Group-Studio 59, which is upgrading the facility to include new synthetic greens, tees and practice area.

"This isn't your father's AstroTurf," said Studio 59 owner, Blair Subry on the Studio 59 website.

Installation of the new turf was delayed after the April flooding but is expected to be completed in a matter of weeks, reported the Daily Herald.

Another new feature of the golf course will be an indoor putting studio with a video system so players can analyze their strokes, reported the Libertyville Review.
