Libertyville Little League Gets New Scoreboard

The IBEW Local 150 donated a new digital scoreboard to the league making the experience at Juniors Field even better.

Libertyville Little League's Juniors Field has a new illuminated digital scoreboard to enhance the experience for players and spectators, funded by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 150.

Union electricians from Baum Sign helped install the scoreboard and required electrical equipment on Tuesday.

The 7’6” by 14’ scoreboard, installed in the outfield, will not obstruct anyone’s view or cause light pollution in the surrounding neighborhoods.

The donation is also the capstone to Dave Cook Jr.’s tenure as the Libertyville Little League’s Director of Sponsorship.

Fourth scoreboard donation

The multi-purpose, super-bright, wide-angle, high-efficiency ("green" technology) LED-lit scoreboard at Butler Park on Lake Street is the fourth to be donated at the park.

The three previous electronic scoreboards have been donated by Rust-Oleum (Flood Field, 2005), The Porche Exchange (AAA field, 2007), and Hollister (AA field 2010).

The IBEW Local 150 labor union is based in Libertyville and has been serving Lake County since 1914. Many of the union’s local families have played in the Libertyville Little League baseball program since it began more than 60 years ago.

"The IBEW Local 150 is proud of its 20-year history of sponsoring the Libertyville Little League, and is happy to help the league acquire its new high-efficiency scoreboard," said Don Carlson, business manager for IBEW Local 150.

Juniors Field hosts games for the LLL Junior Division (ages 13 and 14), Bigs Division (ages 15 through 18), LHS freshman games, Travel Leagues games and others.
