Roundup of Libertyville High School Sports

Wildcat boys wrestling team defeated Cary-Grove and Fremd on Saturday.

Boys Bowling

Finished in seventh place in a tough IHSA Sectionals at Lakeside Lanes Jan. 21.

Jake Thompson bowled a 1,291 for six games and finished in fifth place as an individual. Thompson's placing qualified him to the IHSA State Meet this Friday and Saturday in O’Fallon, Miss.

Boys Wrestling

Defeated both Cary-Grove (49-12) and Fremd (68-4) on Jan. 21. They will wrestle at Zion-Benton tonight in a dual match. The NSC Conference Wrestling Meet will be at on Jan. 28 and 29.

Girls Basketball

Defeated Stevenson on Jan. 21 in a comeback thriller, as they trailed for most of the game. The final score was 39-36 in overtime. The team has a busy week with against Carmel on Jan. 25 and Mundelein on Jan. 27.

Boys Basketball

Boys Swimming and Diving

The team finished in third place at the St. Charles North Invite with a first place by Alex Snarski in the 100-yard backstroke. The team will be at home for Senior Night on Jan. 26 against Mundelein.
