Tae Bo Star Billy Blanks Wows Libertyville

More than 100 people worked out Sunday morning at the . But their workout was different than most, as this one was led by international Tae Bo fitness guru Billy Blanks.

Blanks was in Libertyville at the Fitness Center promoting his 11th annual Tae Bo Fitness Challenge. The two sessions he conducted found devoted fans of his fitness workouts as well as newcomers who wanted to learn firsthand the experience.

“This was so special getting to work out with Billy Blanks having him lead the session,” said Libertyville resident Kendra Fischl, who recently joined the . “Everyone in the class was really in to it. Billy was awesome and really motivated everyone with his fitness expertise.”

This special “Fitness Weekend” promotion at the included a WHY 2K Obstacle Course and Fun Run on Saturday.  The Fitness Center offers annual memberships for only $1 a day for a year, with two-person discounts, special senior rates, no start-up fees and no nonresident fees.

In its ninth year of operation, the Libertyville Sports Complex includes a Fitness Center, Indoor Events Center, Driving Range and Softball Field and is located at the corner of Peterson Road and Route 45 on the northwest side of Libertyville.
