85th Annual Lake County Fair to Feature Clydesdales, Banana Derby

What's your favorite event at the Lake County Fair?

When the 85th annual Lake County Fair opens this week, guests will be treated to everything from livestock demonstrations to the return of the Budweiser Clydesdales.

The fair will kick off July 24 and end July 28. Each day will feature standards like the carnival, food vendors and live entertainment, along with a variety of special events. The popular Banana Derby, which features monkeys riding dogs around a track, will be back every day at the Kid Korral. The second annual Sasquatch Calling Contest is set for July 26. The Budweiser Clydesdales will be featured in a parade at 1 p.m. July 27 and 28.

July 24:

Hours

The fair will be open from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. July 24-25, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 26-27, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 28. Daily admission is $8 Wednesday through Friday for adults ages 13 and over, and $10 for Saturday and Sunday. Children ages 6-12, along with seniors, are just $5 each day. The Lake County Fairgrounds are located at 1060 E. Peterson Road, Grayslake.
