Libertyville Days a Celebration of Community Spirit
Libertyville spirit was abundant as residents turned out for the 2012 festival, "Celebrating the Spirit"
It was easy to see at this year's festival that Libertyville is a community rich in spirit and talent. The four-day festival was jam-packed with sunshine and entertainment for all ages.
Talented residents
The Arts and Crafts fair was full of artisans showing their creativity. Local musicians joined area bands on stages in the food court and in . Talent competitions, live theater performances and a cookie bake-off gave residents a forum to showcase their skills. Poised girls competed for the opportunity to represent the village as local royalty. Local photographers had an opportunity to display their work in a public exhibition. There is no doubt — Libertyville's got talent both on and off the festival stage.

Family Entertainment
The popular parade brought out spectators who lined Milwaukee Avenue for miles to enjoy the marching bands, Shriner groups, local merchants and civic organizations. There were many family activities, including a pet pageant, pancake breakfast, watermelon-eating contest and firemen's rib cook-off. Smiles and squeals rose from the rides as the carnival lights shone into the night.

Fun for Adults too
brewed a beer, Vardin's Brew, just for this year's festival, celebrating the spirit of George Vardin, one of the early settlers to the area.
Annual Fundraiser
Libertyville Days is the yearly fundraising event run by volunteers to support the Foundation. The 2012 festival was hosted by the Libertyville Civic Center Foundation, Libertyville Junior Women's Club, Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus.
