Lake County Forest Preserves
In 1958, the Illinois state government founded the Lake County Forest Preserve District to protect and upkeep the natural resources of the region. The efforts made to preserve a sense of authenticity for the regions ladscape is one that requires all hands on deck. Government, non-profit and community groups all work tirelessly with the Lake County Forest Preserve District to expand, restore and improve the importiant midwest landscape.
The Lake County Forest Preserves work with many government, non-profit and community partners, such as conservation organizations, natural resources agencies, county governments and museum associations .
