Danielle D. Miller, 38, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013 at Advocate Condell Medical Center. She was born Nov. 14, 1974 in Henderson, KY, was a 1992 graduate of Libertyville High School and also a graduate of Illinois State University. Danielle was a special education teacher and a member of The Chapel in Libertyville. She enjoyed camping, her pets, scrapbooking and especially her family. Surviving are her husband, Scott Miller and daughters, Sierra and Savannah and her parents, Anthony and Gayle Maunus, all of Libertyville; her brother, Derek (Kerry) Maunus of Alamo, CA; grandfather, John Unckrich; father and mother-in-law, Tom and Pamela Miller and brother-in-law, Erik (Brittnay) Miller. Donald T. Morrison, Jr., 84, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013 peacefully at home with his family. He was born Sept. 7, 1928 in Chicago was a former resident of Deerfield and has lived in Green Oaks for the past 12 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in the Pacific Theatre on the U.S.S. Algol during the Korean War. He was a life time Waukegan Trial Attorney at Morrison and Morrison and past president of the Lake County Bar Association. He was a Fellow of American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of numerous organizations including a past Grand Knight of the Deerfield Knights of Columbus. John A. Herrick, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born Feb. 7, 1924 in Chicago, was formerly of Glenview and has lived in Vernon Hills for the past 30 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II and was a retired metallurgist for the Signode Corporation. Nicholas Domenico, 89, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at his home in the presence of his loving family. He was born March 12, 1924 in Altoona, PA, was formerly of Chicago and a resident of Saddlebrook Farms for the past 16 years. Nick was very athletic and was an avid sports fan, enjoying the Cubs, Blackhawks, Bulls and Bears. He was a former employee of the Sportmart store and was also a musician, playing his guitar as a member of the Mellowmen. Jean Flanigan Clark, 89, formerly of Gurnee and Columbus, Ohio, died May 1, 2013 in Libertyville after a short illness. She was born Dec. 15, 1923 on a farm in St. Francisville, IL to John Andrew Flanigan and Hilda Porter Flanigan. Jean grew up in Champaign and graduated from the University of Illinois, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Most of her adult life was lived in Columbus, Ohio, where she raised her family and was active as a volunteer, homemaker and friend to many. She and her husband moved to Gurnee in 1981 to be close to their daughters. Allen E. Botimer, 81, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013 in Park Ridge. He was born April 27, 1932 in Defiance, Ohio and had been a resident of Libertyville since 1961. Allen was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the occupation of Europe in Austria and Italy. He held a Bachelor's degree in music education and a masters degree in history from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. He taught at several school districts, including Stevenson High School and later Robert Morris College in Chicago. He was a member of the Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Grayslake. Gerald J. Deitz, Jr., 83, passed away on Sat. April 27, 2013 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Gerald was born Dec. 7, 1929 in Lake Forest and spent his childhood in Waukegan. Graduating from Waukegan Township High School in 1947, he attended Lake Forest College and the University of Illinois Extension before entering the Air Force in 1951. Gerald was honorably discharged from the Air Force as a staff sergeant in 1954 and upon his return, completed a Bachelor's degree in economics at the University of Illinois, Champaign. Gerald retired early from Fansteel Metallurgical Corp. after 26 years and spent the rest of his working days at State Farm with agents Eddie Richter and Randy Nebel. Gene F. Smith, 71, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013 in Port Charlotte, FL. He was born Jan. 7, 1942 in Chicago and was a Mundelein resident since 1975. Gene was a loving father, caring friend, flawless drummer, passionate fisherman and was proud to be called a friend to all who knew him. Ruth M. Felgar, 96, passed away on Wed. April 3, 2013 at the Balmoral Care Center in Lake Forest. She was born Dec. 28, 1916 in Gilmer, IL and moved to Libertyville as a child. Ruth was a graduate of Libertyville Township High School and the Lake County College of Commerce in Waukegan. She worked as the secretary for H.E. Underbrink, the principal of LHS for 13 years. She was later employed by the Libertyville Savings and Loan, Boehm & Ray Insurance Agency, several local advertising agencies and car dealerships. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and following retirement was a homemaker and cook.
