After your votes were counted, Deer Path Inn in Lake Forest reigns as the Best Brunch champ in northern Lake County.
From the start of voting on Tuesday until it closed on Friday, Deer Path Inn in Lake Forest staked a lead and never relinquished it to become the Chowdown Showdown Brunch Champion. Deer Path Inn earned 48 of the 70 votes cast on Patch, Facebook and Twitter in Grayslake, Lake Forest, Lake Bluff and Libertyville. The Grille on Laurel in Lake Forest took second with 20 while Alek's in Lake Bluff was third with 2. Readers love their brunches. We received several comments in this week's Chowdown Showdown, to answer the all-important question: who has the best brunch in northern Lake County? Based on your votes on Patch, and on Facebook and Twitter, here are the top three contestants in Grayslake, Lake Bluff and Libertyville. Now it is time to select the Chowdown Showdown brunch Champion. Please note a change (outlined in the PDF at right) to way winners will be named. A point system will be used to score the contenders, which will be judged based on votes as well as on ratings in our business directory, Patch Places. Ristorante Battaio in Libertyville.
The results are in for this week’s Chowdown Showdown Champion for which restaurant has the best Italian food in northern Lake County, as voted on by Patch readers in Grayslake, Lake Forest-Lake Bluff and Libertyville. And the winner is — drumroll please — Ristorante Bottaio in Libertyville. Congratulations to Ristorante Bottaio! The voting between the top contestants was very close, with the top two separated by only eight votes. Ristorante Bottaio had 30 votes, followed by Trattoria Pomigliano in Libertyville with 22 votes. Mambo Italiano Ristorante in Mundelein rounded out the top three with 12 votes. So stop by Ristorante Bottaio tonight and enjoy some of the their Italian food!

Something's Brewing of Grayslake in a landslide.
The results are in for this week’s Chowdown Showdown Champion as voted on by Grayslake, Lake Forest-Lake Bluff and Libertyville Patch readers, as to which restaurant they think offers the best cup of Coffee. And the winner is — drumroll please — Something's Brewing, 1126 E. Washington St., in Grayslake. Congrats to Something's Brewing! Overall, Something's Brewing received 84 percent of the votes cast, Eloise Chicago (used to be Silborne's) in Libertyville received 8 percent, Bellagio Cafe in Libertyville received 5.5 percent, and CJ’s Coffeehouse in Zion received 3.5 percent.
