Lake County Offers Citizen Police Academy
Apply by Feb. 15 to attend this year's 10-week program.
The Lake County Sheriff's Department will hold its next Citizen Police Academy course starting March 7. Interested residents are invited to apply to the program, which will provide a first-hand look at how the office of Sheriff Mark Curran maintains law and order for the residents of Lake County. The academy is a 10-week program with classes running approximately three hours each on Thursday evenings. The class begins at 6:30 p.m. each evening. Instruction is provided by sworn deputies and civilians in their field of expertise and is designed to provide a hands-on experience. It is absolutely not a Junior Deputy Program. Far from it. What it is, is a very informative program and for those who are interested they should give it a go. Definitely worth the time..excuse the pun! more ›
