Encore Theatre's 'All Shook Up' Opens April 12

The Encore Theatre will present the musical "All Shook Up" April 12-14 at St. Lawrence Episcopal Church. The production features the music of Elvis Presley and is about "a guitar-playing roustabout" who comes to town and "changes everyone and everything he meets," according to the Encore Theatre website. Encore Theatre Bringing 'White Christmas' to the Stage

Performances will be held Dec. 14-16 at the Libertyville Civic Center.

"Sisters." "The Best Things Happen While You're Dancing." "Count Your Blessings (Instead of Sheep)." Do you know what all of these songs have in common? They're all featured in "White Christmas," and you can see them performed live when the Encore Theatre group presents the musical Dec. 14-16 at the Libertyville Civic Center. The Christmas classic will feature area youths singing and dancing—including tapping—their way through Irving Berlin's popular numbers. "It's very exciting. I really like this show," said 13-year-old Jacob Rudolphi. Rudolphi and fellow Highland Middle School student Jack Miller will play the entertainment duo of Phil Davis and Bob Wallace, respectively. 'The Sound of Music' Kicks Off Encore Theatre's 15th Season

Performances will be held Oct. 12-14 at St. Lawrence Episcopal Church in Libertyville.

When Mia Akers auditioned for Encore Theatre's production of "The Sound of Music," she had just one role in mind: Maria. "I grew up with this musical in our home," said Akers, an eighth-grader at Oak Grove School. "I have a very musical family." Akers said she has seen the movie version at least 10 times, in addition to stage productions. "It's fun," she said of playing Maria. "It's fun to know how to portray her." The Jr. Encore Theatre will open its 15th season Oct. 12-14 with "The Sound of Music." Performances will be at 7 p.m. each of the three days and will be held at St. Lawrence Episcopal Church, 125 W.
