A Libertyville High School student said he wasn't allowed to walk in a recent Relay for Life event for Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein and Vernon Hills youths because he hadn't raised the $100 minimum fund-raising requirement, according to the Lake County News-Sun. Anthony Zotto, 18, told the News-Sun that he tried to participate in the April 13 relay at the Libertyville Sports Complex with his own donation of $25 but had to leave the event when he couldn't come up with the whole $100. The American Cancer Society, which sponsors Relay for Life, said that to be fair and consistent to the other students, organizers cannot deviate from the per-participant fund-raising goal, according to the article.
