Students Explore Science at College of Lake County

CLC hosted the MindTrekkers science fair April 12.

From the look of the floor in the College of Lake County gymnasium, you might have thought a party had just ended. Colorful popped balloons littered the floor. But the gymnasium hadn't been the site of a party. Instead, the popped balloons were evidence of failed attempts to stick a wooden rod through a balloon. That was among many science experiments students experienced April 12, when CLC hosted the MindTrekkers science fair. The exhibits were led by students and faculty from CLC and Michigan Technological University. Libertyville High School Teacher Chosen for NASA Polar Project

Mark Buesing, a Libertyville science teacher, will participate in Operation IceBridge to study the global climate system.

A Libertyville High School science teacher Mark Buesing is one of onlyl 15 educators to be chosen from a pool of 300 to participate in NASA's global polar projects. Buesing ventures to Greenland in April for Operation IceBridge, a six-year mission to map polar ice in unprecedented detail to better understand processes that connect the polar regions with the global climate system, posted Libertyville High School on its Facebook page.
