Shakou Set to Open Next Month in Downtown Libertyville
The restaurant will offer sushi and other seafood, along with steak and poultry.
If you've been anxiously awaiting the opening of Libertyville's newest restaurant, Shakou, you won't have to wait much longer. The restaurant is set to open its doors March 7, said Adam Garvanian, who owns Shakou with Aleks Dupor. "We're very excited," said Garvanian. "It's been a long road, but we're finally coming to the finish line." Both Garvanian and Dupor have strong ties to Libertyville. They grew up in the village and graduated from Libertyville High School, so opening their restaurant in the village was an obvious choice. "(Dupor) found this location, and it was the last one on Milwaukee Avenue," said Garvanian. "The community really supports the local businesses around here."
