Police Blotter: Theft at X-Sport, LA Tan

The following arrest information was supplied by the Libertyville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Warrant Arrest, Unlawful Use of a Weapon Marco Antonio Atempa, 19, of 404 Fourth St., Waukegan, was charged Oct. 18 with unlawful use of a weapon, consumption of alcohol by a minor, driving while license suspended, unlawful transportation of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane use and non-functioning registration light. He later was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond and issued a Nov. 2 court date in Waukegan. A passenger in the vehicle, Ivan Yovani Atempa, 21, was wanted on a Lake County warrant for failure to appear and then was charged with obstructing a peace officer after police said he provided a false name. He was released from Libertyville police custody on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond …

Police Blotter: Businesses on Route 21 Burglarized

The following arrest information was supplied by the Libertyville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary On Oct. 6, three businesses were burglarized in Libertyville. The businesses were Cosmo Prof, 886 S. Milwaukee Ave., a wholesale beauty supply distributor, Great Clips hair salon, 1774 N. Milwaukee Ave., and Il Nails Spa, 1768 N. Milwaukee Ave. The glass front door was smashed at each burglary. Nothing was reported missing at Cosmo Prof or Great Clips. Il Nails Spa reported the loss of a 50-inch television valued at $899, an iPod Nano valued at about $300 and 28 bottles of no-chip polish valued at $365. Police are investigating. Theft A patron at X-Sport Fitness, 1163 S. Police Blotter: Warrant Arrest, Missing Tools

The following arrest information was supplied by the Libertyville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Warrant Arrest Jason J. Horn, 28, of 33842 N. Lake Shore Drive, Gages Lake, was arrested Aug. 9 after police observed him intoxicated at the Marathon gas station, 704 N. Milwaukee Ave. Horn was found wanted on three warrants, two were in our geographical limitations: a traffic charge warrant from Illinois State Police, and a burglary warrant from Lake County. He was processed and transferred to Lake County jail. Jorge F. Rosales, 32, of 1494 Savannah Ct., Gurnee, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a DUI charge. Rosales was taken into custody. He was unable to post 10 percent of his $22,000 bond and was transported to Lake County jail. Police Blotter: Reckless Driving, Theft, Damaged Car

Felony Aggravated DUI, Reckless Driving Rafael E. Roa, 50, 425 Fairlawn Drive, Round Lake Beach, was charged July 30 with felony aggravated DUI, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood-alcohol content over .08, driving while license revoked, reckless driving, driving without a valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving in the wrong lane. Police were called after people saw Roa driving recklessly and almost hitting a number of cars on North Milwaukee Avenue. Roa was arrested and held for a bond hearing the next morning. Police Blotter: Theft at Fould's, Peeping Tom

Theft at Fould’s Three 100-foot power cords were removed from a portable generator at Fould’s, 520 E. Church St. The theft was discovered July 20 and was believed to have occurred overnight. The power cables were valued at $400 each. The estimated total loss is $1,200. Peeping Tom Jim A. Petrov, 27, 639A W. Park Ave., Libertyville, was charged July 20 with disorderly conduct for unlawfully peering through a window at an apartment complex in the 600 block of West Park Avenue. Residential burglary Televisions and jewelry were stolen from a home in the 200 block of Woodland Road on July 6. Police reports say the glass on the door of an enclosed porch was broken to gain entry. No estimate of loss was listed in the report. Burglary to motor vehicle A purse was removed from an unlocked vehicle in the 800 block of Dawes Street during the night of July 8. The vehicle was parked in the driveway at the time of the theft. Police Blotter: Cable Cut at Lake Minear, Car Theft

Criminal Damage to Property, Trespassing Vandals cut a cable line to the boundary and safety buoys at Lake Minear Beach, 600 Oak Spring Road, on July 2. The beach manager also said that someone trespassed and relocated picnic benches, a picnic table and a rowboat on the property two weeks ago. The cost to replace the cable is estimated at $200. Theft An unlocked Cadillac SRX, valued at $46,670, was reported stolen from Weil Cadillac Hummer, 1050 S. Milwaukee Ave., on July 2. A navigation system located the vehicle in Chicago and it was towed back to Libertyville. No information was immediately available regarding any damage to the vehicle. Amanda M. Police Blotter: DUI, Burglary to Vehicle

Burglary to vehicle A Garmin touch screen GPS with its stand was removed from a vehicle in the 300 block of Laurel Avenue. The theft occurred sometimes during the overnight hours of June 17 while the unlocked vehicle was parked in the driveway. No estimate of the loss was listed. DUI On June 18, police observed Vernon Hills resident Salvador Zaragoza, 39, weaving in his lane of traffic and stopped him on North Butterfield Road near Ridgewood Lane. Zaragoza failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. He was additionally charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level over 0.08, a well as for driving without a driver’s license and without insurance on the vehicle. Police Blotter: Theft, DUI, Underage Drinking

The following arrest information was supplied by the Libertyville police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Theft at Arrow Plumbing On June 3, police responded to a burglar alarm at Arrow Plumbing, 547 North Ave. Police found a work vehicle had been entered and copper fittings and tools valued at $100 stolen. The burglars attempted to flee but were stopped a short distance away when police blocked the roadway. Kenosha resident Craig Gascoigne, 39, and Round Lake resident Allen Meyer, 42, were arrested and held overnight for bond hearing. The judge released Gascoigne on a $50,000 bond and Meyer was remanded on a $100,000 bond to the custody of the Lake County jail. DUI Police stopped Riverwoods resident Sara Ann Danielewicz, 46, in the 1000 block of South Milwaukee Avenue on June 3 when they saw her vehicle swerving out of its lane several times…

Police Blotter: Theft at X-Sport, Driving Violations

Libertyville Patch provides updates from the Police Department every Wednesday.

Theft at X-Sport On Nov. 14, a X-Sport Fitness patron reported that his wallet was stolen from an unsecured locker. The wallet contained his driver's license, $10 in cash, some credit and business cards. His car keys and clothes had been moved to another locker. Driving Without Car Insurance Remigijus Zukas, 31, of Plainfield, was stopped for improper lane usage at Milwaukee and Park Avenue at 5pm on Nov. 15. Zukas was charged with driving with a revoked license, operating an uninsured vehicle and for improper lane usage. Zukas was released on a personal bond and his court date is set for Dec. 8. A teenager was stopped for speeding near Butterfield and Winchester Roads at about 6am on Nov. 17. The teen was unable to produce a driver's …
