Members of the Vernon Hills Police Department were among hundreds of law enforcement agents who attended the funeral of Vernon Hills resident and Illinois State Trooper James Sauter this week. "I lost count of how many Illinois State Troopers were there after 350," said Officer Sharon Joseph, who shared these photos with Patch. Tributes to Sauter included a message on a digital tollway sign, a roadside salute by at least eight fire departments and an American flag hung over the road.

Bristol Court, Mundelein, entered the Vernon Hills Police Department just after midnight and said he wanted to file a report involving a car accident he had in Mundelein.
