ReplyPapa Johns. The corporation that won't give its employees full time hours in order to avoid paying benefits and insurance. BTW, I support the teachers. My kid's teachers are wonderful. I don't support the strike, or the union demanding more blood from us dried up stones.

ReplyI do have to sign in, and my ID is in the computer, so the photo prints on my visitor badge. But before they knew me, I just waved and they buzzed me in. The people there are great, and they're doing their job, but I wouldn't complain about much tighter and stricter security.

ReplyPaula and "Nightcrawler" - if in fact that is your real name, according to 2010 numbers from localschooldirectory.com, SD46 spent $9,463 per pupil, state average was $11,055. These numbers actually back us up better, as they beg the question, "Just where the hell is our money going if our children are getting just 85% of what the average Illinois student is getting!?!?" I'll sit down now and wait for your eye-roll.

ReplyThis is ridiculous. We can't refinance or sell our house because it's worth 72% of what we paid for it 5 years ago. Yet our property taxes went up 19% last year. How is that not enough? The school board, teachers, unions, administrators need to understand THERE IS NO MORE BLOOD IN THESE STONES!! The board members need to attend the meetings. If they are being scheduled with no prior notice, the person(s) in charge of that need to be identified and held accountable. We're all broke. Balance the budget without gutting your constituency. As Bob and Marvin said, make do with less, because less is what we all have. No raises, no bonuses, no strikes, no stupid brick columns. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!
