ReplyThe building and property are owned by High School District 128. The district currently does not plan to sell the property as they still use the fields for sports.

ReplyI love how the familiar downtown is transformed with the carnival lights. Anything is possible when the festival is here. I also enjoy seeing all the talent and creativity brought by Libertyville residents to the events, talent contests, and music stages. Check out the photography exhibit at the Brainerd Building on Sunday.

ReplyWell said Joyce! It is easy to knock down ideas when the time hasn't been taken to become fully informed. Opinions are not facts and conjecture is not truth. The Brainerd meeting are open to the public. We invite discussion as well as donations.

Brian, it is my understanding that whatever the fate of the building the cost will be upon the residents. The first in a series of videos has been released on YouTube talking about the building and the community center concept. People who are interested can subscribe to the BrainerdLibertyville TouTube channel to hear how performance groups are interested in utilitizing the building. There are creative ideas for businesses to use the building, bringing jobs to town. The building structure is sound and is an excellent candidate for sustainability. View the first segment at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwDcK8ihXps
