Sedrik R. Newbern is President of Phoenix Insurance & Financial Services, an Allstate Insurance agency in downtown Libertyville, IL. His focus is on protecting your assets and family from mayhem by ensuring that you have the appropriate products and coverage for your needs. He is licensed in Illinois and Wisconsin to sell property and casualty, life, accident and health. He is also President of Newbern Consulting Group serving as a coach, consultant, motivational speaker and workshop facilitator specializing in purpose-driven personal/professional coaching and business consulting.

In his 12 year career with and Allstate Corporation, Sedrik has held local, regional and national marketing leadership positions in the Southern Region, East Coast and Home Office in Chicago. His success in the company was driven by his ability to develop local value-added advertising, sponsorships public relations campaigns to create sales opportunities. Additionally, he developed and conducted workshops for agency owners, sales leaders and regional senior leaders on marketing and sales processes and improving the Customer Experience.

Prior to joining Allstate, he worked for United Way of Middle TN, the YMCA of Middle TN and INROADS/Nashville, Inc. His roles in the non-profit sector were focused on career development for teens and college students, marketing and fund development. These experiences have given him a broad prospective of business and leadership development. This was the foundation and inspiration that led to him becoming an entrepreneur.

Sedrik has a deep passion and commitment to growing the community and serving others. He strongly believes that when you know better, you do better, so he empowers customers and other entrepreneurs through education and the development of sustainable action plans.

A native of Nashville, TN, Sedrik holds a BS in Marketing from Western Kentucky University and an MBA with a concentration in Economics from Tennessee State University. His ultimate support and motivation come from his wife and young son. He and his family live in Lake County.
