Police Blotter: Drug, Retail Theft Arrests

The Vernon Hills Police Department reports arrests from Dec. 26 to Jan. 3.

These incidents were among the official reports of the Vernon Hills Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Drugs

Alexander M. Drott, 33, of 3731 Salem Walk, Northbrook, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia Dec. 29 near Milwaukee Avenue and Corporate Woods Parkway. He was also cited for possession of cannabis. He was released on $150 cash pending a Jan. 20 court date.

Alexander B. Liu, 20, 12 Wishitay Ave., Hawthorn Woods, was charged with possession of a controlled substance Jan. 3 at Lids, 525 Hawthorn Center. He was also charged with obstructing justice. He was remanded on $10,000 bond. 

Retail Theft

Timothy J. Schneider, 45, of 19314 W. Fairview Drive, Mundelein, was charged with retail theft Dec. 26 at Sears, 2 Hawthorn Center. Police said he left the store without paying for $104 worth of perfume. He was released on $150 cash pending a Jan. 15 court date.

A 17-year-old boy was charged with retail theft Dec. 31 at Kohl's, 235 N. Milwaukee Ave. Police said he left the store without paying for a ring. He was released on a notice to appear in court Feb. 13. 

Jacqueline A. Quinn, 19, of 4 Barberry Drive, Hawthorn Woods, and Elise C. Payette, 20, of 63 N. Prairie Ave., Mundelein, were charged with retail theft Jan. 3 at JC Penney, 4 Hawthorn Center. They were both released on a notice to appear in court Feb. 13.

Two women were charged with retail theft Jan. 3 at Kohl's, 235 N. Milwaukee Ave. Police said the women—Amber M. Leu, 25, of 2151 Silver Linden Lane, Buffalo Grove and Sheri M. Levitt, 25, of 1342 Gail Drive, Buffalo Grove—left the store without paying for $1,264 worth of clothing and jewelry. Leu was released on a $1,500 recognizance bond pending a Jan. 19 court date. Levitt was charged with three counts of retail theft, along with attempted possession of a controlled substance, and was released on a $15,000 recognizance bond pending a Jan. 28 court date.
