Police: One Person Killed in Head-On Collision Near Libertyville
Route 21 was closed between Routes 137 and 120 for more than two hours.
One person was reportedly killed in a head-on collision early Friday afternoon on Route 21 near Libertyville.
Brian Keller, chief of operations at the Lake County Sheriff's Office, said police were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash with injuries at 12:46 p.m. The accident, he said, occurred a quarter-mile north of Rollingwoods Road on Route 21.
Keller said a person was killed in the crash. He could not release the identity of the individual, pending notification of the person's family. He does not know if others were injured in the crash.
Accident investigators are on the scene, Keller said.
Route 21 remains closed between Routes 120 and 137.
