Public Defender Appointed For Man Charged in Kidnapping

Reyes is accused of taking a 3-year-old girl from the entrance of 555 Deepwoods Drive in Mundelein around 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 30, according to Mundelein police.

A public defender was appointed Wednesday for a Chicago man accused of kidnapping a 3-year-old girl in Mundelein before returning her bleeding and injured a short while later, according to the Daily Herald. 

Jose E. Reyes, 28, is being held in the Lake County Jail on a $5 million bond and is charged with aggravated kidnapping, kidnapping and unlawful restraint, according to the article. 

The girl was taken from the entrance of 555 Deepwoods Drive in Mundelein around 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 30, according to Mundelein police. 

More charges could be filed against Reyes and he is expected back in court on Nov. 13, according to the Daily Herald.
