Trustees voted unanimously Tuesday night to accept a letter of intent regarding the sale of the Bolander property.
A real estate contract for the sale will now be drafted for the board's approval.
Should that contract be approved, the Bolander property will be sold to Pathway Senior Living, LLC, of Des Plaines, with the expectation that the land will be used for an assisted senior living facility.
The land would be sold for $2.05 million, which is above the $1.75 million appraisal amount.
Trustees agreed in September 2012 to sell the property, located on Winchester Road, because it was determined to be underused.
Resident Scott Nelson asked that the hockey boards from the park be removed and stored for future use.
