Trail Links in Libertyville Area Could Provide More Regional Access

Libertyville township is looking into the possibility of connecting a short village trail in the Timber Creek subdivision near Butterfield Road and Route 137 with the Casey Trail, according to the Daily Herald.

Libertyville township trustees voted in favor last week of hiring Gewalt Hamilton Associates for $4,692 to create exhibits that show different links for a trail that would connect neighborhoods in northwest Libertyville with the regional trail system, according to the article.

Meanwhile, the Casey Trail is being extended as part of Route 21 construction to the east and will connect via a tunnel under Milwaukee Avenue to the Des Plaines River Trail, according to the Daily Herald.
