Rt. 137 Back to Four Lanes as Construction Nears an End

Businesses along Route 137 said they saw an immediate spike it customers.

Libertyville commuters, you have reason to rejoice.

Four of the five new lanes on Route 137 are now open, according to an article in the Daily Herald. That means that what had become a parking lot for much of the past two construction seasons is now flowing much more freely.

Business owners along the construction area told the Herald that they saw an immediate jump in customers when the traffic barriers were removed Tuesday. Lee Famous Donuts nearly sold out that day, the owner said.
